The word origami means ‘folding paper’. ‘Ori’ means ‘folding’ and ‘gami’ means ‘paper’. It is a traditional Japanese pastime using only paper. Over time, origami has evolved into an internationally recognized art form. Try it out using beautiful paper with the help of your friendly guide. Later, if you feel bored on the plane, you or your kids can while away the time improving your skills! Sessions are in English.

  • You do not need to wear special clothing or bring any other items.
  • These are small but open sessions. Sorry, we do not offer private sessions at this time, nor can we offer wheelchair or physical disability access.
  • Children under fourteen years old need to be supervised by an adult attendee. Children under the age of four, and with an adult may attend free of charge.
  • People who want to observe but not participate need to pay the full session fee.
  • For a cancellation refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the start time (local time).

From  Shijo Station 4 minutes’ walk

At Shijo Station on the Kyoto Subway, take Exit 6 up to street level. Head right until you come to Bukoji-dori Street. Turn right onto Bukoji-dori Street and walk ahead. Keep going past two main intersections, and we are on the left, next to a Japanese restaurant.

From  Karasuma Station 6 minutes’ walk

At Karusuma Station on the Hankyu Line, take Exit 25 up to street level. Go left along Shijo-dori Street for one full block, and turn left onto Shimmachi-dori Street. Walk straight ahead past one main intersection. At the second main intersection, turn right onto Bukoji-dori Street. We are on the left, next to a Japanese restaurant.
